A letter from Dean-o!

What's up! Thanks for stopping by to catch up with what my ministry is all about. I have had such a blast over the years being with you guys at concerts, summer and winter camps, VBS weeks and more. I've learned so much from all of you, and I've even written some of my songs based on the questions I've received from many of you about the true meaning of God, Jesus, and the Bible - God's Word.

For example, let's take a look at Revelation chapter 21, verses 10 and 11, the Bible verses behind the song New Color Craze, found on the GOD CITY album. The verses read, "And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal."

FIRST, isn't this awesome! Heaven, or the Holy City, will get its light from the glory of God Himself! In heaven, there will be no need for lights or electricity or power because the glory of God will shine so bright that He will be our light!

SECOND, think about this: one day, God will open up His gates to the incredible things He has prepared for those who love Him. And what will we see? The Bible gives us just a glimpse here, but it is enough to make our imaginations run wild. When I came upon these verses, the idea for a song jumped out at me as the result of a fond memory. The words "clear as crystal" caught my attention, and suddenly a question I was asked years ago at a summer camp came to life like I had heard it yesterday. The inquisitive little 4th grade girl I met at summer camp wanted to know more about heaven, and it was her simple question that I'll never forget. She asked, "Are there going to be new colors in heaven?"

At the time, I knew that the Bible did not say, but I also knew that this was the most brilliant question I was ever asked about heaven. Children ask because they believe, and I was sure that this child had the right idea. It makes total sense when you think about it; heaven will be endless, and new colors with new names are a definite possibility. In fact, I'll be pretty surprised if we don't see a whole new array of colors that reflect the limitless character of God. The chorus to New Color Craze goes like this:

Like Ramalamamangomangerine, it's a shiny sheen we've never see

In the pristine, ever-clean, endless color scheme

In the pristine, ever-clean, endless color scheme

And Rabbazabbadingomarmalaid, it's a groovy shade we've never made

In the God-made, Holy-grade, brand-new color craze!

So, whether we end up seeing RAMALAMAMANGOMANGERINE or any other cool color that will blow our minds, one thing I know is sure; when we see God's kingdom with our new eyes, we'll all go crazy for God's new colors! And this is what my ministry is all about: I am on a mission to help each of you come to a practical understanding of God's Word, so that with God's strength you can achieve a lifetime of spiritual victory.

So for now, let's look forward to the splendor of heaven, and let's make sure you and your friends know how to get there - through believing in Jesus. I hope to see you at a concert, camp or VBS week very soon, and God bless each of you as you seek first the Kingdom of God.
